Youth Group 2009-10
The 2009-10 St. Patrick Parish Youth Group

YOUTH GROUP NEWS
June 2010

Graduation Mass
Seventeen graduating seniors participated in the Graduation Mass held at St. Patrick on Sunday, May 30.  They were asked to choose an item that represented their past four years of high school and to write something about that item.  They also wrote about those people whom they wished to thank.  Each graduate brought their item to the altar while what they wrote was read for all to hear.  It was a memorable and moving event.  Father Tom Seabridge gave the graduates a special blessing.  Following the Mass a reception was held in the hall with refreshments.  The slideshow of this year's events includes photos from the Graduation Mass -- click here to check it out!

CHANGES COMING TO THE YOUTH GROUPS OF THE AMADOR CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

The Jackson, Ione, and Sutter Creek Youth Groups will be joining as one in the Amador Catholic Community Youth Group.  We are working towards remodeling a teen recreation center in Sutter Creek with meetings at both St. Patrick Parish Hall and Immaculate Conception Parish Hall.  Keep your eyes and ears and hearts open as we plan to get together to open the Word, share our faith, and have some fun.

THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE
ST. PATRICK PARISH HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

St Patrick Parish recognizes that "Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community." *

St Patrick Parish seeks to incorporate the goals, themes and components of a comprehensive youth ministry program as detailed in Renewing the Vision: A Framework For Catholic Youth Ministry, 1997, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

* A QUOTE FROM: A VISION OF YOUTH MINISTRY, 1976, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE UNITED STATES CATHOLIC CONFERENCE, PAGE 6.

My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. --  PROVERBS 24:13-14
